In 2021, the Tower Foundation will offer two opportunities (April & August) to apply for funding through our three portfolios: Programs & Services, Strengthening Partner Capacity, and Community Change portfolios. The Foundation will only consider grant requests that align with its Mission, Focus Areas, and Geographic Focus. Your organization may only submit one request each funding round across the three Tower Foundation’s funding portfolios. Please read the guidelines below for important information on eligibility, deadlines, and instructions.
As COVID-19 is still very much with us in 2021, The Peter & Elizabeth Tower Foundation will also offer two additional opportunities to apply for funding to support community organizations that continue their work in the face of challenges tied to the pandemic. Organizations with existing programming in the Foundation’s funding geography expressly serving young people with intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, mental illness, and/or substance use disorders and their families are eligible to apply for unrestricted grants of up to $25,000. The first round has closed. Applications for the second round are due by Wednesday, July 7, 2021. Please read the COVID-19 Response Guidelines below for important information on eligibility, deadlines, and instructions.
Organizations may submit requests for both portfolio grants and COVID-19 Response grants.
1a. Review Grant Guidelines for Portfolios
For information on eligibility, deadlines, and instructions, download the 2021 grant guidelines (below) for the portfolio you wish to review. Applicants may only apply to one portfolio per deadline. For instance, if an organization applies for a Programs and Services grant in April, they cannot submit for a Community Change grant as well.

2. Target a Grant Cycle
The Tower Foundation is resuming two of its customary portfolio grant cycles in 2021. Our approach is highly collaborative and is designed to facilitate faster decision timelines (generally three months or less).
