Child & Family Services of Erie County

Dialectical Behavior Therapy Training 2018 and 2019

“Child & Family Services will train counselors and clinical supervisors in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), an evidence-based treatment and best practice in the mental health field. DBT is effective at reducing suicidal behavior and is highly cost-effective in comparison to in-patient treatment. Despite the evidence of effectiveness, DBT is offered in a limited number of clinical settings in the Western New York area. Initially, the nine counselors trained through this grant, will reach an estimated 1,000 clients annually.”
