Behavioral Health Urgent Care Model

“The Children’s Mental Health Campaign will use grant funds from The Tower Foundation to develop strategies that alleviate the issue of pediatric psychiatric boarding in emergency departments for children with acute behavioral health needs, and particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (ASD/IDD).

Funding from the Tower Foundation will allow the coalition to devote the time and resources needed to engage an expert consultant from the ASD/IDD field to help identify best practices that work for both children with ASD/IDD and their neurotypical peers with behavioral health problems through research and family engagement, and to develop an implementation strategy through partnership with ASD/IDD providers.”
